Moisture resistant boards

The overlay is fused to the substrate and provides a robust, long lasting water and vapour resistant barrier that protects timber building components from moisture ingress that could compromise their structural integrity. In the case of SIP panels and closed cassettes, the protection against moisture ingress prevents potential damage to the costly insulation layer.

Arctek Technology by Arclin is an overlay performance solution fused to a wood based panel such as oriented strand board (OSB), medium-density fibreboard (MDF), particle board or plywood in factory conditions. As a result, the surface of premanufactured timber construction components is water-resistant creating moisture resistant boards. A variety of the Arctek overlay performance solutions have been engineered to perform as a vapour control barrier. The fully customisable overlay enhances performance of wood based panels and helps to protect them from potential damage caused by moisture ingress.

The panels or components are delivered to site weatherproofed and ready to install. Formwork, or shuttering, is a process of creating a mould from plywood or other timber manufactured materials for concrete to be poured into and formed.
